Telus, 11 King Street West, Toronto, Fall 2006
The Telus, 11 King Project was a complex project constructed in occupied spaces in a tight time frame and budget, encompassing 3 phases.
Phase 1 included a new Executive washroom and new A/C for the main Executive boardroom. The aggressive 3 week schedule was set to accommodate a previously arranged Board meeting. Work could only be done after hours as the Boardroom was consistently booked. The space had to be functional each business day in a clean environment complicating the task.
Phase 2 was for the Telus Innovation Centre, an actual working mock-up, including a Boardroom, Classroom and Hospital room where Telus business products are showcased to clients in a hands on setting. This phase, constructed in behind the Telus main reception, was also done after hours to ensure that any disruption to on going operations was minimal.
Phase 3 consisted of open office space, IT labs, meeting rooms, break-out areas and private telephone rooms to the 3rd and 7th floor. The innovative design stressed functionality and corporate identity.
The entire project was a qualified success, a true team effort achieving an on time and on budget creative work space. |
